PRACTICE CONSULTATION FEES:

Billing Policy

Generations Family Medical Practice is a mixed billing practice.

 

Both new, and existing patients who will continue to be Bulk Billed, for appointments booked prior to the date of consultation, include the following:

  • Patients under 16 years of age
  • Patients over 65 years of age
  • Patients with a Healthcare Card or Pension Card (Excludes the white senior’s Card)
  • Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander patients registered under CTG

If a patient does not fall within the aforementioned categories, they will be charged a gap fee of $20 for a consultation with any of the doctors.

 

All appointments that are booked on the day, meaning they were booked on the same day as the date of consultation, will incur a gap fee of $20. This applies to all patients, except those who are recalled on the day at the request of a GP within the clinic.

Pricing and Payment

Pricing Guide:

A $20 gap applies to all standard and telehealth consultations.

Appointment cost:

  • Standard Appointment    $59.75
  • Long Appointment          $96.95
  • All certificate of fitness for light vehicle (private) drivers’ licence will attract a gap fee of $20.00.

This pricing is indicative only. Actual fees may vary based on the treatment received during the appointment.

 

These changes will be effective as of 01 July 2023.

Payment Methods

Payment may be by cash, EFTPOS, or credit card. Cheques will only be accepted from patients who regularly attend this practice. Claim rebates can be forwarded directly to Medicare.

 

All accounts are to be paid in full on the day of the consult.

Failure to attend an appointment and/or failure to cancel

2 hours prior to the appointment time may attract a fee

which is not covered by Medicare.

Additional Fees:

Gap payments may apply for minor surgical procedures to cover the cost of surgical materials and dressings.

Insurance: Overseas Health Care Cover

We accept nearly all major overseas insurance plans and these include – Bupa, Allianz, Nib, Medibank and ahm.

The overseas insurance plans above are billed directly after the consultation, given a patient has their insurance card on them. Please note that there is a $20 gap fee, as stated above in the billing policy.

Other overseas insurance plans will be charged the full cost of the consultation, which is to be paid at the time of consult and claimed later. EFTPOS facilities are available.
